Harvest Ridge

★★★★★ 4.5 Editor rating

Harvest Ridge drops you on a small plot with a rusty tool and a lot of ambition. You clear land, plant crops, befriend a handful of townsfolk, and slowly turn a sleepy corner of the map into something that feels like yours. It's gentle and open-ended, with no energy meters forcing you to stop.

What won us over is how it handles time. The in-game clock runs while you play, but nothing punishes you for stepping away. Come back a day later and your farm is exactly where you left it. Everything runs offline, including the daily routines of the villagers.

It's not fast, and that's the appeal. If you want a game to unwind with — tending plants, fishing, rearranging your house — this is a lovely one to keep installed.
